Board Message - November 2025

Dear NCPMI Members,
November is a wonderful time to reflect and express gratitude for the many blessings and people who have shaped our lives over the past year. I am truly thankful for so much — my health, my friends and family, my fellow NCPMI board members, our dedicated volunteers, and you. Your continued passion and commitment are what drive this board to keep improving, offering valuable opportunities, and supporting our members in meaningful ways. You make all of this possible!
This month, several of our board members will be traveling to Phoenix, Arizona to attend the Leadership Institute Meeting (LIM) — an invaluable opportunity for our current and incoming leaders to:
- Grow their skills: Strengthen leadership, communication, and presentation abilities.
- Amplify their impact: Share accomplishments and inspire fellow leaders across the region.
- Expand their network: Build meaningful connections and exchange ideas with Project Management professionals worldwide.
We’re excited to bring back fresh insights and resources to further enrich our members’ experience. I’m confident 2026 will be an incredible year for NCPMI!
New VP of Marketing:
I’m pleased to announce that I will be passing the baton to Rashmi Chandra, Ph.D., PMP, as the new Vice President of Marketing. Please join me in congratulating and welcoming Rashmi to the NCPMI Board. I’m confident the Marketing team will continue to thrive under her leadership.
Other News:
We had an amazing Volunteer Appreciation Event Behind the Mask – Honoring Our Hidden Heroes on October 24th. Our Mardi Gras–themed event was a blast, complete with a “whodunit” mystery game and plenty of delicious food. Thank you to all our volunteers who attended and those who help make the event a success. We couldn’t have done it without you!
Don’t forget to register for our Annual Members’ Meeting on Thursday, November 20, 2025. In-person events are a wonderful way to connect, collaborate, and celebrate our shared successes. This important event is an opportunity to hear chapter updates, celebrate progress from 2025, and look forward to what’s next. You can register for the event here. I look forward to seeing many of you there — especially those I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting in person yet!
Also, the NCPMI Store is now open! Our Marketing team worked hard to bring this initiative to life. You can now proudly represent our chapter at work, PMI conferences, and other events. Just click the store logo in the header of our homepage to start shopping.
Finally, I want to express my heartfelt appreciation for each of you and for your continued support. If there’s ever anything I can do to enhance your membership experience, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Connect with me on LinkedIn — I’d love to stay in touch.
Wishing you a joyful Thanksgiving and a wonderful holiday season ahead!
Warm regards,
Angela Thornton, MS, CSM, CSPO, ICP-ACC

Grow Your Skills
It is particularly important for Project Managers to maintain and improve their project management knowledge and skills to stay competitive in the market. PMP certification is a critical component. As, during the resent years, project management discipline took a step toward more flexible and dynamic project management methodologies, in addition to the traditional waterfall approach, several new emerging methodologies became in high demand. Thus, training and credentialing in these methodologies became highly sough after among Project Management professionals. It is especially relevant in today's economic climate.
